techlive announces acquisition of Roombase Networks from Sky Hotel Entertainment
Interactive in-room entertainment systems provider to the European hotel industry, techlive, has announced the acquisition of Roombase Networks, from Sky Hotel Entertainment (SHE), a subsidiary of Sky Deutschland.
The acquisition will give UK based techlive a presence in the majority of all luxury hotels in Cyprus. The acquisition covers not only the provision of TV-based video entertainment services but also an entry into the fast growing high speed internet access (HISA) market.
Exploiting extensive market reach
techlive annually serves more than 3.5 million hotel guests by providing luxury hotels with TV and movie systems, internet protocol (IP) TV and hotel broadband. The company's hotel partners include some of the most prestigious chains and operators in the industry including Crowne Plaza, Four Seasons, Hilton, Holiday Inn, Intercontinental, Jury's, Le Meridien, Marriott, Millennium Copthorn, Renaissance and Sheraton.
Managing director of techlive, John Vernon said: "This is an exciting time for techlive, which has been successfully supplying entertainment to the world's luxury hotel groups for the past 22 years. We are currently embarking on an expansion programme and this acquisition follows the recent purchase of pay TV contracts covering 4,000 Spanish hotel rooms which had previously been operated by Sky Hotel Entertainment (SHE)."
