Flagship NEC display to target pro market
NEC Display Solutions reveals plans to unveil latest 70-inch full HD MultiSync P-series
NEC Display Solutions has announced will launch its latest top-of-the-range model of P-series public display in March 2010, with the NEC MultiSync P701.
The 70-inch full high-definition monitor is a professional-grade panel especially built for long-term use and features a multi-step overheating protection system that its manufacturer said enables it to be used even in the most demanding digital signage applications.
Flagship model builds on AV pro strengths
NEC Display Solutions' P-series, which consists of the NEC MultiSync P401, P461 and P521 models, will expand with the new flagship P701 model. With its brightness of 600 cd/m2, contrast ratio of 2,000:1 and resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, the monitor delivers crisp, vivid digital signage content in full high-definition (HD) quality making it ideal for size-critical implementations in retail signage, control centres or in public buildings, according to the company.
"With the P-series' numerous features and expansion options, our latest P701 professional panel promises to deliver to the requirements of demanding digital signage, conference or control room applications. It offers exceptional state-of-the-art technology for all kind of professional digital signage application and is built with reliability and variability in mind, aimed at environments that require simplified installation and easy integration," said Ian Gobey, general manager of NEC Display Solutions Middle East.
Power-saving, peripheral efficiency features
Thanks to the integrated ambient light sensor, the screen brightness of the NEC MultiSync P701 is designed to automatically adjust to changing light conditions. This ensures that the display never consumes more power than necessary. The monitor features the NEC Option Slot for expansion modules such as a built-in PC or media player. And these slot-in devices have been designed to replace external distribution equipment and cables, simplifying installation and improving overall appearance.
The in-built local area network (LAN) interface enables network integration and, therefore, the remote control and management of the display via the NEC control software, which is included free of charge. Also via Ethernet or the RS232 port, the P701 can be calibrated with the NEC Display Wall Calibrator. In addition to all the common interfaces, the P701 also features a DisplayPort interface. This modern connectivity option works with compact connectors and enables higher bandwidths and longer connection cables, added the company.
